Info on e-books
E-books on iPad, iPhone or Android smartphone
- 1. Put the chosen e-book in the shopping basket
- 2. Complete your shopping. You will now find the e-book that you have purchased under User Profile > Downloads. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to download the e-book.
- 3. Install Bluefire Reader on the device on which you want to read the e-book. You can download Bluefire from App Store (for Apple products) or Android Market . You need an Adobe ID to be able to read copyrighted e-books (read about DRM and watermarking). Create you Adobe ID here.
- 4. Turn on the device that you want to read your e-book on, log on to ?My page” or your e-mail account and click on the link. A pop-up window will ask if you want to open the e-book in the reader you have downloaded.
- 5. You will always be able to find your e-books under your User Profile > Downloads. You can download an e-book on a maximum of five different e-readers and save your e-books on your PC. Click here to learn how you download and save your e-books.
- 6. Enjoy your reading!
E-books on eReaders or PC

- 2. Complete your shopping. You will now find the e-book that you have purchased under User Profile > Downloads. You will also receive an e-mail with a link to download the e-book.
- 3. Download the e-book and open it with the reading programme on your eReader. You will be asked to log in with your Adobe ID (read about Adobe ID). You will be asked to authorise your eReader if you have not done this before. You can now download the e-book to your eReader and read it wherever you are. You can also save the e-book to your PC and open it in a reading programme later on.
- 4. If you do not have a reading programme, you can download Adobe Digital Editions for free. If you want to read the e-book on your eReader as well as on other reading devices, e.g. your PC, you need an Adobe ID – click here to learn more.
How to install Bluefire Reader (iPad or iPhone)
Bluefire Reader is an app that you can download from iTunes. The app makes it easy to read e-books and other materials on your iPad or iPhone.
- 1. Download the free app from iTunes. You will also need an Adobe ID to read copyrighted e-books. If you do not already have an Adobe ID then follow these instructions.
- 2. After installation, open the Bluefire Reader app and click on “Info” at the bottom of the menu. You will now be asked to authorise Bluefire Reader with your Adobe ID. Remember to use the same username and password as you used for your Adobe ID.
- 3. The app is now ready to use.
How to install Adobe Digital Editions
Adobe Digital Editions is a reading programme to read e-books and other materials on various devices. The programme also works as an e-book library where you can keep track of your e-books. Download Adobe Digital Editions here
How to create an Adobe ID
Most publishers use Adobe DRM (Digital Rights Management) to copy protect their e-books. Therefore you need to create an Adobe ID if you want to read e-books on an eReader or other reading devices, even if you do not use Adobe Digital Editions as a reading programme. With Adobe ID you can read your e-book on a maximum of six (6) different PCs and six (6) different reading devices, e.g. eReader or smartphone. Create an account and get your Adobe ID here
Adobe DRM and watermarking
Most publishers use Adobe DRM (Digital Rights Management) to copy protect their e-books. Therefore, you need to create an Adobe ID if you want to be able to read e-books on eReaders or other reading devices, even if you do not use Adobe Digital Editions as a reading programme.
Furthermore, an e-book can be watermarked and not copy protected.A watermark indicates a personalized copy of the file with your name and order number auto-embedded on every page of your e-book. This watermark associates this particular file to you. This identifier does not contain any other personal information about you.
The watermark does not affect the reading and printing of the e-book and you can copy the e-book unlimited to other reading devices, such as a laptop, mobile phone, iPad, etc.
E-books with a watermark or without copy protection are more user friendly that DRM protected e-books.
Whether the e-book is protected with DRM, watermark or has no copy protection, it is still copyrighted material that must not be passed on to be used by others than the buyer.
